The temporary lake level drawdown to the 165’ msl elevation was reached Tuesday, September 21, 2010 and generation was ceased at 7:00 a.m. This elevation will allow inspection and necessary repairs to the soil cement face of the dam. Inspections made on September 21 indicated no further drawdown will be necessary. It is possible, however, that due to very low inflows and high evaporation rates, the lake level may continue to go down slightly.
The repairs are scheduled to begin Thursday, September 23 and, if all goes well, should be completed by early next week at which time the reservoir will be allowed to fill to its Operating Guide schedule for October – December of 168.0’ msl as rainfall and inflows allow.
The public’s patience and understanding of this temporary condition is appreciated.
